Who we are:

Lindsey Meyers & Simone Garcia

We are artists, educators, curators, event facilitators, gallerists and activists and owned Beauty & Brawn Art Gallery and Think Space in Logan Square, Chicago for almost six years. Being the first true gallery in the neighborhood, our efforts were focused on supporting local artists and the creative community, arts education, public-facing art, placemaking and cultivating cultural inclusivity and dialogue.

We made the decision to close the physical space in December of 2016 in order to curate off-site projects and events for a variety of clients and properties, and thus Beauty & Brawn was re-imagined as a means to facilitate more immersive and interactive events and experiences as a duo- locally, nationally and internationally.

Beauty & Brawn is responsible for some of the most outstanding and iconic murals and art programming in Chicago and beyond for clients including the City of Chicago, Soho House (Chicago/Toronto), Chicago Loop Alliance, International Women's Forum, Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art, The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Hyatt Centric Chicago, Village of Fox Lake, and The Chicago Yacht Club. We have worked with a myriad of local artists, as well as those from Berlin (Onur), Brazil (Kobra and Fernando Chamarelli), Montreal (Mateo Wallpainter- Mathieu Bories), South Africa (Ricky Lee Gordon), Argentina (Marina Zumi) and Mexico City (Libre).

What we do:

Beauty & Brawn produce works, conversations and events which offer a socio-psychological perspective and immersive experience to the viewer. Through art and experiential curation and collaboration, we showcase artists and performers whose philosophies examine, encourage and ultimately connect the emotional experience to human existence. Collectively, we see each project through from conceptualization to installation and focus on ventures that are often nonlinear in content, setting and/or scope.

We are committed to supporting creatives working in all artistic disciplines and across all genres, as well as those at various career levels. We are also proud to facilitate public art projects that we feel are innovative and unique- those which perpetuate and contribute to the dialogue about art accessibility and art in both urban and rural landscapes.

With our combined experience of over 25 years in the field, we believe our carefully-crafted curatorial approach lends itself to creating interesting and yet uncomplicated spaces and discussions where expression and energy can seamlessly come together. And our mission combines our passion for all things: art, creativity, arts education, philanthropy, activism, place making and community engagement.

We are the conduit to something beautiful.
